Information we collect
We collect the email address you use to create an account, and optional profile fields you choose to provide (Lichess/Chess.com usernames, ratings, timezone). We store the chess game data and repertoire moves you upload or play within the app.
How we use it
We use your data solely to provide and improve ChessReady — generating your training plan, running the spaced-repetition algorithm, and showing you your statistics. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Data storage
Data is stored on servers within the EU. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use JWT tokens for authentication, which expire after 7 days.
Third-party services
We may fetch game data from Lichess and Chess.com APIs on your behalf when you provide your username. We do not share your personal data with these services beyond what is required to fetch your games.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies are used.
Your rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via the Profile page. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
